At QNET, we recognise the similarities between entrepreneurship and sports. Indeed, hard work, commitment, teamwork and focus are among the traits required for success in both business and sports.
This explains QNET’s various sporting collaborations over the years, and in particular, our long partnership with the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
QNET-CAF: A Winning Partnership
As the governing body of African Football, the CAF is committed to nurturing talent, promoting sportsmanship and uniting communities through football. It also works with forward-thinking partners to help African football thrive and drive social and economic development.
This is why QNET’s support of various CAF events over the years has extended beyond financial sponsorship and has been geared towards transforming and inspiring Africa’s youth.
Here are some of the ways we have worked to boost youth empowerment and diversity:
A Strong Beginning
The QNET-CAF partnership kicked off in 2018, and from the get-go, the collaboration underlined our commitment to the region’s growth.
QNET had already established itself as one of the world and Africa’s leading direct selling companies by this point, with a record of having helped countless young individuals become successful business owners. Hence, by becoming the official direct selling partner of the prestigious Total CAF Champions League, Total CAF Confederation Cup and Total CAF Super Cup, we cemented not only our commitment to our entrepreneurs and scores of customers but also our dedication to Africa and its development.
Promoting Unity Through Inclusion
The QNET-CAF partnership was initially set to run for a period of two years. In 2019, however, our sponsorship of CAF’s football programme was extended further. This not only entailed QNET sponsoring key matches in the Total CAF Champions League, Total CAF Confederation Cup and Total CAF Super Cup but also saw us organising and holding several fan engagement events across Africa.
For instance, we held match viewing parties, where QNET distributors and prospects, regardless of age, creed, gender or background, were invited to watch key tournament matches on big screens and enjoy exclusive QNET-CAF merchandise.
Football isn’t only the most popular sport in Africa. It is deeply embedded in the cultures of almost all communities, who play it regardless of class or social status. As such, QNET-CAF events have played a key part in uniting young people across the region.
Inspiring Transformation and Excellence
QNET has, additionally, continued to support CAF’s commitment to nurturing talent and empowering young Africans to pursue their dreams and achieve greatness.
Africa has the youngest population in the world, with over 72 million not in school, employed, or in training. Thus, QNET’s expertise and experience in providing a platform for individuals to attain financial stability have been crucial in helping the CAF in its mission of transforming and developing African youth, both on and off the field.
Indeed, the QNET-CAF partnership has succeeded in providing resources for talent development, promoting football down to the grassroots level and establishing platforms for young athletes to showcase their skills, foster unity among nations, and celebrate excellence.
As Trevor Kuna, QNET’s Marketing Officer, put it: “Our collaboration with the Confederation of African Football is much more than a sponsorship. It is a celebration of shared values and aspirations.
Both QNET and CAF are dedicated to nurturing talent, promoting excellence, and building bridges across communities. This partnership reflects our commitment to the African continent, where we have been actively doing business and making a difference for over a decade.”
From Africa to the World
Like previous editions of the tournament, the 2023 Total Energies CAF Africa Cup of Nations held in Cote d’Ivoire in 2024 succeeded in demonstrating the competition’s global appeal as well as its massive impact.
It also served as a showcase for the continent’s brightest and best footballing stars.
This, then, is one of the reasons we at QNET believe that our ongoing partnership with CAF will help advance African football even further — across the continent and world — and create a legacy of success, unity, and empowerment for now and generations to come.
