QNET expresses its deep concern over the recent events in Ndadjé district, Mbour, where several of our independent distributors were subjected to unwarranted acts of violence by a group of residents. We vehemently condemn such actions and are grateful for the prompt and effective response of the local police, who ensured the safety of individuals and property in the affected area.
Recent news coverage of the incident has unfortunately suggested an inaccurate portrayal of QNET’s operations, insinuating our distributors partake in deceptive practices aimed at job seekers. It’s crucial to set the record straight: QNET does not have employees in Senegal. Instead, we provide an opportunity to individuals to register as distributors of our products and act as independent sales representatives who make commissions on the products they sell. These individuals are entrepreneurs in their own right, leveraging the QNET platform exclusively to market our products and earn commission from product sales.
In response to the incident, Mr. Biram Fall, Regional General Manager for Sub-Saharan Africa at QNET, expressed his dismay: “The actions taken by some individuals in Mbour are deeply troubling and entirely indefensible. It is important to remember that there are legitimate and lawful channels available for addressing grievances. We urge the public to utilize these mechanisms rather than resort to violence. We also extend our appreciation to the Mbour Police for their decisive and timely actions.”
Mr. Fall also highlighted the company’s proactive measures to prevent misuse of its name and to address any concerns the public may have: “Since 1 September 2023, we have been operating a WhatsApp Compliance Hotline (+233256630005), available 24/7, to facilitate reports of any misconduct associated with QNET’s operations or individuals exploiting our name for unethical purposes. QNET has proactively addressed misinformation surrounding the company through extensive social media campaigns and is also focused on combating the rise of fraudulent incidents by individuals who misuse the company name for illegal activities through various initiatives.
