QNET in collaboration with long-standing partner Manchester City Football Club, has successfully delivered a high-impact youth football clinic in Accra aimed at developing the next generation of African talent through sport, mentorship, and life-skills training.
The initiative, held from 21 to 24 May 2026 at AIS School Park in East Legon, brought together 25 promising young footballers aged 7 to 11 from communities across Ghana. Delivered by official Manchester City coaches, the programme provided participants with an immersive, world-class training experience focused on technical development, discipline, and personal growth.
Advancing QNET’s Commitment to Youth Empowerment in Africa
This clinic reflects QNET’s continued commitment to youth empowerment, community engagement, and sustainable impact across Africa through strategic partnerships and purpose-led initiatives.
Football remains one of the most powerful unifying forces across the continent, and Ghana in particular continues to produce exceptional talent that contributes significantly to the global game. Through this initiative, QNET continues to invest in platforms that unlock potential at the grassroots level while reinforcing positive values among young people.
Transforming Talent Through Opportunity and Access
For the participating children, the clinic offered more than technical football training. It created a structured environment designed to nurture confidence, resilience, teamwork, and leadership, core values that extend beyond sport and into everyday life.
By bringing elite coaching directly into local communities, QNET and Manchester City continue to bridge the gap between aspiration and access, ensuring that young talent is exposed to professional standards of training and development early in their journey.
Speaking on the initiative, Trevor Kuna, Chief of Network Development at QNET, emphasized the role of opportunity in unlocking youth potential:
“Football does something that few things can — it cuts across language, background and circumstance and gives young people a common language of ambition. At QNET, we believe that ambition must be met with opportunity, and this clinic is a clear example of how we bring that belief to life through meaningful engagement.”
He further highlighted that the programme is designed not only to develop athletes, but to shape confident, disciplined individuals prepared for future success in all areas of life.
Commenting on QNET’s expanding youth development footprint in Africa, Cherif Abdoulaye, Deputy Regional General Manager for Sub-Saharan Africa, noted:
“We have seen the transformational impact of this initiative in previous editions across the region. Bringing it to Ghana is a natural progression of our commitment to African youth. Ghana has a deep football culture and immense untapped potential, and we are proud to contribute to its development through structured, high-quality training experiences.”
Strengthening Global Sports Partnerships
Representing Manchester City Football Group, Philipa Harrison, Partnerships Marketing Manager for the MENA region, highlighted the shared vision behind the collaboration:
“Over the past few days, we have witnessed tremendous passion, energy and commitment from these young players. This football clinic is about helping young people develop their abilities, enjoy the game and believe in what they can achieve in the future. We are proud to partner with QNET to bring this experience to young players in Ghana.”
The collaboration forms part of QNET’s long-standing 10+ year partnership with Manchester City Football Club, reinforcing a shared commitment to excellence, performance development, and youth empowerment through sport.
